El partido de ida del Apertura 2011 del Fútbol Mexicano se jugará hoy, 8 de Diciembre, en casa de Santos a las 8:30. El partido de vuelta será el Domingo 11 de Diciembre a las 6 de la noche.*

The schedule for the final of the Apertura 2011 will be as follows. The first game, played in Santos’ home field will take place tonight, December 8^th, at 8:30. The last game will be on Sunday, December 11, at 6 o’clock at night.*

Fútbol Mexicano Semifinal 2

            En la otra semifinal, Tigres avanza a la final después de que el marcador global quedó 1-0 a favor de Tigres. Pero hay un dato curioso. En el partido de ida, el marcador quedó 0-0, dandole a los dos equipos la oportunidad de decidír el partido en casa de Tigres. Y la única razón por la que pasó Tigres, fue por un autogol de el equipo de Gallos Blancos. Tigres, sin marcar ni un gol, pasa a la final. Pero bueno, en el fútbol pasan cosas locas, y se debe saber ganar y perder. Felicidades a Tigres por su pase a la final:)

            In the other semifinal, Tigres advance with an overall score of 1-0 in favor of them. But, there are some curious facts. In the first game, which was played in Gallos Blancos’ stadium, la score was 0-0, still giving both teams the chance to advance to the final. The final was to be decided at Tigres’ stadium, and the only reason they advanced was because of an own goal by a Gallos Blancos player. Tigres, without scoring a single goal, advanced to the final. Oh well, that’s soccer for ya. Crazy things happen, and you have to learn to both win, and lose. Congrats to Tigres on their advance to the final:)

Fútbol Mexicano Semifinal 1

            El Santos pasó a la final del Apertura 2011 del Fútbol Mexicano. En un partido con muchos goles, la regla de “empates” hizo que Santos pasara a la final envez del Morelia. El partido de ida había quedado 2-1, y el de vuelta quedó 3-2. En el global quedaron 4-4, pero como Santos estaba más alto en la tabla general, por ley, pasó Santos a la final. Muy triste considerando que el Morelia jugó al tú por tú, o hasta mejor que Santos, pero por ley, el Morelia tuvo que terminar su temporada en la semifinal. Tengo fé en mi equipo que pronto ganaremos una final. La temporada pasada, quedamos subcampeones, y esta, en semifinales. Sé que mi equipo me volverá a dar la felicidad que me dio hace 11 años, cuando fueron campeones en Invierno del 2000. ¡Ánimo Monarcas! Yo los seguiré queriendo. Oh, y felicidades a Santos:)

           

            Santos advanced to the final of the Apertura 2011 of the Mexican League. After a game of many goals, the rules of “ties” gave Santos the advantage and they move on instead of Morelia. In the game at Morelia, the score had been 2-1, and in Santos’ stadium the game ended 3-2. So the overall score ended up being 4-4; and since Santos had been higher in the standings after the regular season, they advance to the finals. It’s sad considering that Morelia played just as good, or maybe even better than Santos, but by law Santos advanced, and Morelia had to end their season in the semifinal. I have faith in my team and know that one day they will give me, and other Morelia fans, the joy they gave us 11 years ago in the Winter 2000 final. Keep your head up Morelia! You made us all proud and I will keep loving you no matter what. Oh, and congrats to Santos:)

Balón de Oro 2011

¡Los nominados para el Balón d’Or 2011 fueron anunciados hoy!

¡Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi y Xavi Hernández!

            Ronaldo, Xavi y Messi son los nominados para poder ganar el Balon de Oro 2011. Es como el año 2009 otravez. En el 2009, estos mismos 3 jugadores estaban nominados, y Lionel Messi fue el ganador del galardón. Ronaldo quedó en segundo lugar, mientras Xavi se llevó el tercero.

            El año pasado, Xavi, Messi, y su compañero barcelonista, Andrés Iniesta, fueron los nominados para el Balon d’Or 2010. Y de nuevo, Messi se llevó el premio. En los votos, lo siguió Iniesta, y luego Xavi.

            Este año, Messi tiene la oportunidad de llevarse el premio por tercer año consecutivo, y mientras ganarlo sería increíble, espero que no gane Messi. Ya se que suena raro viniendo de una fanática del Barça, pero me gustaría mucho que el premio lo ganara Xavi. En mi opinion, Messi no sería el jugador que es, si no fuera por Xavi. Y también, Messi tiene 24 años, y tiene mucho future para poder ganar el premio de nuevo, pero Xavi tiene 31 años, y mientras no es una edad tan avanzada, me gustaría que pudiera ganar este premio ahorita en su mejor momento futbolístico. Entonces, espero que los que votan, vean esto, y voten por Xavi para el Balón de Oro 2011:)

Nominees Announced!!!!

Cristiano Ronaldo, Xavi Hernandez and Lionel Messi!!!

                   Ronaldo, Xavi and Messi are the newly announced nominees to win this year's Balon d'Or. It is like 2009 all over again. In 2009, these three players were the ones nominated for the award as well, and Lionel Messi took the award home. Ronaldo came in second, while Xavi came up third.

                   Last year, Messi, Xavi and their Barcelona teammate, Andres Iniesta, were nominated for the Balon d'Or 2010. Once again, Lionel Messi took the award home; followed by Iniesta and Xavi in the votes.

                   This year, Messi has the chance to win the award 3 years in a row, and while I think it would be amazing, I really wish he will not win it. I REALLY want Xavi to win it!!! Messi is 24 and he has plenty of years to win it again, but Xavi is 31 and in my opinion, the best player in the world. Without Xavi, Messi wouldn't be the player he is. So, hopefully the people voting, will realize this, and vote for Xavi:)
